      Museo della Tessitura di Carpino

      The Museum is located in the heart of the historic center of the town in Via Cairoli 3 and includes four rooms, each able to tell the various stages of weaving. In the first room we move from spinning to dyeing the wool, from the warp to the weft and then to the creation of the fabrics; in the second room there is an ancient bedroom set up with furnishings from the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. In the third room there is a vast exhibition of textile artefacts, while the last room is intended for reflection and welcoming visitors.

      The weaving activity in Carpino was born from the need to prepare the so-called dowry for young brides. Linen was woven for tablecloths, towels and bedspreads. Cotton for underwear and sheets. Wool for blankets and clothing, creating fabrics with bright colors, typical of Carpino, with essential lines.
