Signureddha lakes in Cutrofiano

The Signureddha lakes are located in the Cutrofiano countryside, and are disused quarries that in recent years have filled with rainwater and spring water that has resurfaced from the rich aquiferous subsoil of Puglia.

Over time, the inhabitants of the nearby town of Cutrofiano have placed goldfish and carp in the lakes, making the lakes in the Signureddha area (which in Italian means Maiden) real natural habitats for very different species.

Many Salento residents go to Signureddha to fish or walk or inebriate themselves with the scents of the many aromatic herbs and flowers that grow around the lake.
