A 133 km walk, from Lecce to the Sanctuary of Finibus Terrae in Santa Maria di Leuca. A walk that winds along paths that overlook the sea and return to an authentic hinterland, made up of ups and downs, sheep tracks, orange groves and olive groves. The walk includes two itineraries, one of the sea and the other of the villages.

The Via del Mare starts from Lecce and continues towards the sea. After crossing the most beautiful places in Lecce, you walk towards San Foca. The arrows direct walkers on Via Merine reaching the small village of Merine and its characteristic square. Through country roads you reach the village of Acaya, a beautiful example of a fortified city. Before continuing along the path we recommend entering the small village and reaching the nearby square with the clock tower. Leaving the entrance gate to the village, we continue to the left always following the orange arrows. Along a golf course you reach the Cesine nature reserve and its last beach. Once you reach the beach, continue along the coast, with the sea on the left. Once you reach the “Mediterraneo” kiosk, we recommend keeping to the right walking easily on the dirt road until you reach Torre Specchia Ruggeri via a path. Continue for the last few km on the coastal path, until you reach the San Foca seafront.
