The underground chapel can be accessed from two different entrances, both located in front of the small church built at the end of the 19th century.
Inside the underground chapel a fresco of Saint Anthony the Abbot was found, now lost.
Every year a bonfire is celebrated around the Sanctuary which recalls the traditional focara of Novoli, although on a smaller scale.
Other remains of ancient Byzantine frescoes can be seen, and at the back a tuff altar intended for sacred functions. The rooms appear blackened by the smoke of devotional candles.
Around the Sanctuary and the crypt there is an old underground oil mill. The peculiarity of this ancient factory is the presence of many crosses engraved on the rock. This is an ancient peasant custom, which combined faith and spirituality with hard work in the fields and in the oil mills.
