Torrepaduli is a hamlet in the municipality of Ruffano, in the province of Lecce. The hamlet takes its name from three ancient towers, now disappeared, and from the marshes, in dialect “paduli”, that once surrounded its territory.
The small hamlet is known for the night of San Rocco, between August 15th and 16th, an unmissable event in the Salento summer, where the sacred and the profane merge and dance until dawn. The tradition of the pilgrimage on foot in honor of San Rocco, pilgrim and walker par excellence, also persists.
There is also a Museum of Peasant Civilization.
