The artisanal confectionery of the Mucci family located in the historic center of Andria, in Via Museo del Confetto, 12, undoubtedly contains within itself a century of prestigious activity marked by recognitions and honors. An activity that began way back in 1894 with Nicola Mucci. The latter in fact, after a five-year apprenticeship at the Caflish chocolate shop in Naples, decided to open a factory of confetti, chocolate, sweets and liqueurs in Andria near the Cathedral. The art of confectionery was perfected with the creation of the “Mandorla Imperial” for the wedding of Umberto di Savoia with Maria José and the creation of the famous “Tenerelli”, tender confetti covered with a double layer of chocolate. Today the old shop has set up a museum inside it composed of four rooms that exhibits to the public documents, tools, equipment and molds for the confectionery production of over a century of prestigious activity.
