The Marine Protected Area and Natural Reserve of the State of Torre Guaceto never ceases to enchant tourists and locals. In the heart of the coast there is a small cove, unknown and rarely visited.
This is a small beach made of shells only. Here instead of sand there are fragments and whole shells. A true paradise on earth.
Few people know about the cove of shells, even among the regular users of the protected area there are those who have never seen it, this is because this internal beach can only be reached after a long journey on foot or by bike.
It is a magic that happens before the enchanted eyes of the lucky ones who reach it. A paradise of biodiversity, the result of the combination of a series of factors that have made the small bay of just 88 meters wide the Eden of Torre Guaceto.
This is a natural phenomenon due to the morphology of the beach.
This characteristic meant that the shells, instead of finishing their life cycle in the sea, flowed onto the beach and accumulated on the shore.
Such natural luck and commitment to protection have allowed millions of shells belonging to over 129 different species to settle around the cove.
