Mustaccioli Salento are traditional Apulian sweets, a symbol of Salento's confectionery culture. These rhomboid-shaped biscuits are characterised by a soft dough enriched with cocoa, roasted almonds and aromas of, cinnamon and cloves, which give them an intense and enveloping flavour.

The surface is covered with a chocolate glaze, known as “naspro”, which gives mustaccioli a glossy finish and a crispy exterior that pleasantly contrasts with the softness inside.

Traditionally associated with festivities, mustaccioli are now appreciated all year round and often featured in local festivals and fairs.

Our mustaccioli are handcrafted by selected local bakeries, which faithfully follow traditional recipes, using genuine, high-quality ingredients. Amore di Puglia guarantees an authentic product, made with passion and skill, for a unique and unforgettable taste experience.

Mustaccioli are a sweet from Puglia, born in Campania but also made in other regions, each with its own original recipe.

In Apulia, the mustacciolo is a biscuit made from a special dough: flour, cocoa, orange peel and a pinch of cinnamon.

Crispy and glazed, with that unmistakable scent of citrus fruits and spices, Mustaccioli are perfect as an end-of-meal dessert or for a healthy and delicious snack.

PREPARATION

Once the dough has been made, the small discs of dough are baked in the oven and then slowly glazed by hand with a mixture of water and sugar. The result is a mustacciolo scented with citrus fruits and cinnamon, with a shiny surface and a pleasant crispness.
