      Brindisi: Queen of Two Castles

      Brindisi is one of the rare cities with two castles.

      It preserves a Swabian castle and an Aragonese castle, also known as the land castle and the sea castle.

      Both overlook the sea, but the substantial difference is that the sea castle is literally surrounded by water, while the land castle is located close to the port.

      Another similarity is the architecture. The land castle, of Swabian origin, for this reason also called Swabian castle, has an Aragonese layout like the sea castle, because it was later enlarged and modernized by the Aragonese.

      As in a Bergman film, the two castles of Brindisi are the reflection of each other, nemesis and counterpart of a monad duality.
