In Puglia, in any country lane or abandoned place, brambles grow overbearingly, towering over all the surrounding plants, with an inextricable tangle of branches.
Thorny and difficult to eradicate, so much so that they are considered weeds, on the other hand they give us simple but delicious pink flowers and in summer black-purple fruits with an exquisite flavour: blackberries.
Blackberries are actually a complex of small fruits (polydrupes) and are rich in minerals and vitamins A, B and C. They can be transformed into jams, simply by adding sugar and lemon and cooking until the right consistency. The mixture can also be passed through a food mill, if you do not like the seeds.
