
Among the most representative events is the Carnival of Corsano and Capo di Leuca, which since 1982 has attracted thousands of people from all over Puglia and many parts of Italy. Here, every year, you can admire sumptuous papier-mâché carnival floats, true works of art entrusted to the creativity and irony of local papier-mâché masters.
After the religious services, the unusual procession winds through the streets of the town with the saint dragged in a carriage. A truly original rite, which culminates near the Fòcara with the blessing of the olive bundles by the priest.
Between fireworks and traditional music, fire animates the community, blending the sacred and the light, the glory and the purification.
